Beginner & Intermediate Handbuilding

Class Description
In this class participants will learn the basics of handbuilding. As a class we will use pinch, slab, and coil methods. The last class we will glaze our works to create finished functional objects. More advanced students will be given to opportunity to create two independent projects during this class. Two weeks after the classes end, students may pick up their finished pieces.

The Clay CoOp in Rockville, Maryland offers classes for adult students 18+. We are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all students. We believe that our studio should be a safe space for creativity, learning, and mutual respect. We are excited to announce that we will continue to build two absences into the schedule and cost calculation for our eight-week classes. This means that the pricing for an eight-week class will be based on the cost of a six-week class, allowing you the flexibility to miss up to two sessions without affecting your enrollment. Feel free to attend all eight weeks as a bonus! Please note that we do not offer additional make-ups beyond these built-in absences. Our shorter format classes do not include built-in absences, and as such, make-ups will not be offered for these sessions.
