Class Description
Session B, 8-week runs 3/2- 4/29 (no class 3/30-4/1) Participation in this program will give you access to The Clay Coop Monday through Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm. Each day will begin with an optional hour for instructor check-ins, demonstrations, or critiques. Participants may choose to work in both Hand Building and Wheel Throwing, as long as they have sufficient experience to work confidently without supervision. The program will run for 16 weeks, with an option to sign up for 8-week segments. Those enrolled in the full 16-week program will have a guaranteed spot in subsequent cycles. All participants may opt into the next session/cycle by making a full payment 2 calendar weeks before the next cycle begins. Spots will be opened to the waitlist if current participants choose not to make this payment. The cost of this program is $425 for an 8-week practicum segment. This price includes one 25-pound block of clay provided every 8 weeks. Additional clay may be purchased for $55. This clay cost covers access to glaze, firing, and studio expenses associated with additional production. It also helps control the reclaiming of clay and the firing of unnecessary objects.

The Clay CoOp in Rockville, Maryland offers classes for adult students 18+. We are committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all students. As part of our values, we require all students to embrace a spirit of inclusivity and kindness, respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of others in our community. We believe that our studio should be a safe space for creativity, learning, and mutual respect. We are excited to announce that we will continue to build two absences into the schedule and cost calculation for our eight-week classes. This means that the pricing for an eight-week class will be based on the cost of a six-week class, allowing you the flexibility to miss up to two sessions without affecting your enrollment. Feel free to attend all eight weeks as a bonus! Please note that we do not offer additional make-ups beyond these built-in absences. Our shorter format classes do not include built-in absences, and as such, make-ups will not be offered for these sessions.
